Step 1 to improving your acne....Lifestyle!

A healthy diet will help combat acne,  a healthy body equals healthy skin, the skin shows on the outside what is going on inside.

Include:

Vegetables, fruits, lean protein (think lots of fish)  and plenty of water.

Limit:

Stay away from legumes, peanuts, sugar, beans, dairy and grains.  Salt, highly processed foods, excess red meat. Cigarette smoking, and alcohol intake can all trigger breakouts and inflammation.

Stay out of the SUN!!!

I can't tell you how many people tell me they think the sun dries out their acne. That isn't really the case. The ultraviolet rays are damaging the follicles. When you tan, the top layer of skin becomes dry, so at first it will appear to dry out and mask breakouts. But after the tan fades or continues the skin begins to get drier and drier. Your pores continue to produce oil and most times begin to over produce oil, in an attempt to repair the dryness of your skin, only now the oil is trapped and has nowhere to go.  This creates a perfect acne breeding ground.
Make sure to wear a sunscreen of at least SPF 30, all day EVERY day, to avoid sun damage and prevent unnecessary acne scaring, and to keep skin clear and don't forget to touchup!  SPF wears off after 2-4 hours, leaving your skin vulnerable to damage all over again.

Exercise...

When your skin is happy on the inside is shows on the outside as glowing, healthy skin.  4-6 hours of exercise a week will help the skin and body glow with health!
